840 Mbps write and 920 Mbps read speeds on my network - great!

My new Asus Zenbook Duo laptop (awesome, by the way) didn't have an Ethernet port and I wanted better network speeds when working from my living room than I was getting over WiFi. I work with large amounts of data so a hardwired connection is best when possible. I tried this adapter using my USB-C port and it gives me an average of 840 Mbps write and 920 Mbps read speeds from my laptop to my desktop computer (as opposed to 250 Mbps/425 Mbps over WiFi). I also get my typical 480 Mbps wired download speeds over the internet. It gets a bit warm after being used for a while, but other than that I have no complaints. Works as advertised without any additional installation of drivers on Windows 10. As close to a perfect accessory as you can get.

Works great on MacBook Pro computers. Very fast.

This is an excellent choice for MacBook Pro owners as it takes full advantage of the inherent speed of the USB C ports. I was not able to test this to its full capability but was able to test at 400 Mb speeds which is all I need. This is clearly well made and should last a long time.

Needed for New Laptop

Strangely, my new Lenovo laptop did not come with an ethernet port that was like a phone jack. It only came with an ethernet port like my TV has and a USB-C port. I know, I know. These ports and plugs are always changing with technology advances. How is anyone supposed to keep up each time they upgrade their devices? You need a handful of different cords on hand.Anyway, because of this oversight (?), I had to order this USB-C to Ethernet Adapter so my new laptop could connect to my modem which only uses cords like ones that go into a phone jack. The laptop was working fine using WiFi, but I wanted a wired connection.Once I had the adapter, I just plugged everything in and it started working right away. It recognized the wired internet connection. However, I was getting error messages from my laptop saying that the adapter was an unrecognized device, even though the connection was working fine, so that was a bit annoying. I had to turn off the notifications, but now I don't know which other notifications I might miss. Sigh...
